A.-ιῶAr.Av.1466: (πτέρυξ):—flutter with the wings, like young birds trying to fly, ib.795,1466; flap the wings, like a cock crowing, metaph. of a man, Id.Pl.575; of sea-birds, Thphr.Sign.28:—in Ar.Eq.522 the word alludes to the play Ὄρνιθες by Magnes.
