προκατα-γιγνώσκω ,
A.vote against beforehand, condemn by a prejudgement, τινος D.21.227, Plb.21.42.2, etc.; “μὴ προκαταγίγνωσκ᾽ . . , πρὶν ἄν γ᾽ ἀκούσῃς ἀμφοτέρων” Ar.V.919; μὴ προκατεγνωκέναι μηδέν not to prejudge in any point, D.18.2: generally, condemn, disapprove of in advance, Gal.12.260.
2. c. inf., π. ἡμῶν . . ἥσσους εἶναι prejudge us and say we are . . , Th.3.53; “σφῶν αὐτῶν π. ἀδικεῖν” Lys.20.21; π. ἀδικεῖν (without τινος) And.1.3; also “π. ὡς ἀδικῶ” Aeschin.2.7.
3. π. τινὸς φόνον give a verdict of murder against one beforehand, Antipho 5.85; π. τινῶν ἄδικόν τι ib.4; “ἀδικίαν τινός” Lys.19.10.
4. π. θανατόν τινος pass sentence of death on before, D.S.18.60; “τὴν τιμωρίαν αὐτὸς σαυτοῦ π.” D.C.46.11.
