2. metaph., new, unexpected, unheard of, “μῆτις” B.16.51; “πῆμα” A.Pr.102; “πάταγος” Id.Th.239 (lyr., dub.); “τάφος” S.Ant.849 (lyr.); ἡδοναί Id.Fr.l.c. (Expld. as = πρόσφατος by Eust. 1106.23 and Phot. (who calls it Doric, i.e. from ποτί, αἶνος), but it is found in Hp. (v. supr.), cf. Bacch. ap. Erot.）
