II. any small knot like a hailstone,
1. pimple or tubercle in the flesh of swine, Arist.HA603b18, Pr.963b34, Androsth. ap. Ath.3.93c.
2. small cyst, such as grows on the eyelid, Gal. 19.437, Poll.4.198, etc.
3. a knot or hard lump; in an egg, Arist.HA560a28; in coal, Thphr.Sign.25; in ivory, Philostr.VA 2.13; “λίθοι χαλάζηςcrystals, 1Enoch14.9,10. (Cf. Sloven. žled, Little Russian oželeda 'sleet, ice'.)
