τρι_βώλετερ , obscure word found only in Alc.38: cited by Heph.11.3, who attests its metrical form (--^^), and by Choerob. in Theod.1.262 H., al., who says it is an Aeol. voc., proparox., and means εἶδος ἀκάνθης: the quantity is against Bergk's derivation from Τρι^βολολετηρ 'caltrop-devourer'. [τριβωλ- codd. Heph., τριβολ-, τρεβολ-, and τριβαλ- codd.Choerob.]
