c. twine round, “τὰ εὐώνυμα μέρηMeno Iatr.16.16; compose, “τὸν ὄσχεονPaul.Aeg.6.63.
2. metaph., implicate, “κ. τινὰ προδοσίῃHdt.8.128 (as v.l.):—Pass., πόλεμος . . καταπεπλεγμένος τῇ ποικιλίᾳ in the variety of its events, complicated, Arist. Po.1459a34; to be involved, “ἐν τούτῳ ψεῦδος κατεπέπλεκτοS.E.M. 2.71.
3. c. dat. pers., entangle, involve in contradictions, POxy. 1673.20 (ii A. D.), 903.35 (iv A. D.).
II. finish twining: hence metaph., bring to an end, τὴν ζόην, τὴν ῥῆσιν, Hdt.4.205, 8.83.
