διεῖδον , inf. διϊδεῖν, aor. 2 with no pres. in use (διοράω being used),
A.see thoroughly, discern (on the Homeric usage v. δια-είδω）“, τι” Ar.Nu.168, Pl.Phdr.264c; “λόγος οὐ ῥᾴδιος διϊδεῖν” Id.Phd.62b.
2. see through:—Pass., “διειδομένη ἐν ὕδατι νῆσος” Call.Del.191; ἀτραπὸς . . διειδομένη πεδίοιο seen through or across the plain, A.R.1.546.
II. pf. δίοιδα, inf. διειδέναι, Ep. “διίδμεναι” Id.4.1360, distinguish, discern, “ἀνδρῶν . . τὸν κακὸν διειδέναι” E.Med.518, cf. Ar.Ra.975, Pl.Phdr.262a: fut., “διείσεται ἡ χείρ” Orib.8.36.6; decide, S.OC295.
