βλίττω , aor.
A.ἔβλι^σαPl.R.564e:—cut out the comb of bees, take the honey, l.c.; “σφηκιὰν β.S.Fr.778: metaph., β. τὸν δῆμον rob the people of their honey, Ar.Eq.794, cf. Lys.475:—Pass., πλεῖστονδὴ . . τοῖς κηρῆσι μέλι βλίττεται prob. in Pl. l.c.; β. τὰ σμήνη the hives have their honey taken, Arist.HA554a15, cf. 627b2.
II. βλίσσειν: = μαλάσσειν, Erot.Fr.16. (For μλίτ-yω, cf. μέλι.)
