A.cease to attend a master, ἀ. παρά τινος, of scholars, Pl.Grg.489d; ἀ. πρός τινα go away to a new master, Din.Fr.6.13: abs., cease to go to school, Lys.Fr.116; also “ἀ. τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν” Philostr.VS1.17.2, cf. VA7.25, Hld.3.13.
2. desert, abscond, “πρός τινα” Plu.Lys.4, cf. Aristid.Or.21(22).15; of ships in battle, Procop.Goth.4.23; simply, depart, Dionys.Av.1.11.
