εὔ-πνοος , ον, contr. εὔ-πνους , ουν, Ep. ἐΰπνοος , (πνέω)
A.breathing well or freely, Hp.Prog.15, Epid.4.26 (Comp.), Max.Tyr. 30.6 (v.l. ἄϋπνος).
2. causal, making one breathe freely, relieving oppression of the breath, “λουτρόν” Hp.Acut.66.
3. sweet-smelling, “λείρια” Mosch.2.32; “ῥόδον” IG14.2040.3.
II. affording a free passage to the air, “μυκτῆρες” X.Eq.1.10 (Comp.); ὁ [περὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν] τόπος εὔ. Arist.PA653b2, cf. 673b23 (Sup.); “κάλαμοι” Longus 2.35; “νεφέλαι εὔ. αὔραις” Orph.H.21.6.
2. open to the winds, airy, “οἰκία εὔπνους μὲν τοῦ θέρους, εὐήλιος δὲ τοῦ χειμῶνος” Arist.Oec.1345a31; “τόποι” Id.Pr.869a34 (Comp.); “δένδρα” Thphr.CP1.15.4; “τὸ εὔ. τοῦ τόπου” Pl.Phdr.230c.
